Up to 75 new homes will be built in Cambridge, with a mix of 45 open market homes and 30 council rented homes.

The new-builds will be constructed in a new street adjacent to Neal Drive and Topper Street in Orchard Park, an area just north of the city centre.

The planning application was submitted by the Cambridge Investment Partnership (CIP) and initial designs were created by Mole Architects.

A Closer Look at the Orchard Park Housing Plans:

Looking at the plans in more detail, the CIP is proposing to create:

  • 23 studios
  • 36 one-bed flats
  • 16 two-bed flats

These would be housed in two five-storey apartment buildings and a terrace of four properties.
They are also planning to create 26 car parking spaces and 124 bicycle parking spaces.
The plans were granted approval on August 26 by South Cambridgeshire District Council’s planning committee.
